Meet the Founder
Chris Olsen is the founder of Freshstate and brings over two decades of experience in the beverage industry, specializing in tea, spices, and botanicals.
As Teatulia’s longtime in-house tea expert and formulator, he developed deep, garden-level knowledge of tea cultivation, blending, and extraction while working across various formats, including fresh-brewed tea, craft beer, kombucha, and ready-to-drink beverages.
After working directly with organic growers around the world, Chris founded Freshstate to create a sourcing and supply partner built on transparency, premium quality, and long-term relationships — connecting exceptional organic gardens with brands that care where their ingredients come from and how they’re grown. When growers, brands, and communities are all valued and actually care about making a difference, better products and stronger outcomes follow.
Chris’s background blends product expertise with strong operational and marketing leadership. He has extensive experience optimizing supply chains, reducing COGS, improving shipping efficiencies, and scaling operations through seamless integration. He has led the development of award-winning blends, innovative packaging, and scalable programs for both retail and foodservice, always with a focus on consistency, integrity, and flavor.
